The Frost between us – Poem

a beautiful scenery from Tunisia

Tunisia, Sousse

Forever forlorn the heart if ever tethered to another

Forever shrinking with no release of blood

For it , earthly love , needs

crawling to seek survival

Farewell my full-fledged bird;

It is this way I remember you, love!

Let my spirit sourly sorrow it  over

Let it bemoan and sob for the distance between us

Love, why unwilling to accept my helping hand!

When the insentient have kept hiding you as a scar ashamed of

Like I ever blame you for the wounds your beak has caused me

To bleed within the hard-hearted, hard-bitten in me just like you have become

You and I have always been the same as one, never twain

No blistering earth or sky could ever dare sever the sole piece of soul we embody

Until the frost comes between us to separate me from myself; from you

To release me from the spell of kneeling for you, love!

For the sake of the new tasteless

Unbearable life you bid

The newly born passion, that is frozen, you used to add to every act of wisdom

To every begotten unpleasant truth you have it devoid of the ugly

And seek from it sheer and glittering youth ..
