Lonely in a cold night
Thinking in black and white
In my cozy blanket
I feel my body shivers
And in my warm skin
I sense my heart quivers
*******
I wonder how many people
Are without shelter
How many people sleep bare-foot
And shiver
How many bodies
Suffer cold and hunger
*******
In my cozy blanket I wonder
Trying to figure out an answer
Rain and thunder
Echoing my blunder
*******
Why do I complain and chunter
And I am in my cozy blanket
While many have empty pockets
And no food in their baskets
How many people dream of a cozy blanket,
a shelter and a full breadbasket.
*******
Lonely are those outside
In a cold night
Wandering about
Looking for a light
To warm their sight
As their bodies have ceased
To sense the freezing breeze
